Horse racing tips – Friday 7th August
π Pick #1: TOKYO JOE β 20:38 Haydock
π FORM: Tokyo Joe comes here fresh from a WIN at Ffos Las on 14 July π₯. Before that he produced an excellent 4th of 20 at York, so the recent profile reads very nicely. He also won at Lingfield in December β plenty of winning form to work with.
π HAYDOCK: He already knows Haydock, having run 4th here over 6f 212yds last season. That previous track experience is another useful box ticked. β
π¨βπ« TRAINER: Ed Walker is absolutely flying β current figures show 11 winners from 41 runners in the last 14 days, a 26.8% strike rate. Even better, his historical Haydock numbers show 9 winners from 42 runners (21.4%). π₯π
π₯ WINNER LAST TIME + RED-HOT TRAINER = BIG CHANCE TONIGHT! ππ₯
π Pick #2: NABATI β 18:37 Newmarket
π FORM: This youngster has already shown serious ability. Nabati won his Yarmouth maiden comfortably as a 2/9 favourite, quickening into the lead inside the final furlong. He then stepped right up to Listed company at Newbury and finished an excellent 2nd, beaten only a neck. ππ₯
π COURSE: π No Newmarket course form yet, but looks progressive! The key angle is that he’s already demonstrated he can transfer his ability to stronger company.
π¨βπ« TRAINER: Charlie Appleby handles Nabati, and this is exactly the sort of progressive young horse associated with that powerful operation. ππ
π₯ MAIDEN WINNER β‘οΈ LISTED RUNNER-UP β SERIOUSLY EXCITING PROFILE! πͺπ
π Pick #3: GWEEDORE β 15:20 Musselburgh
π FORM: The veteran has plenty of winning back-class to call upon and was a winner towards the end of last season. He has dropped to an attractive-looking mark and arrives at a venue that has repeatedly brought out his best. π―π
π MUSSELBURGH: THIS is the big positive! β€οΈπ Gweedore loves Musselburgh and is a previous course-and-distance winner. A racing preview earlier this season specifically highlighted that he ended last year with a C&D victory here. Today’s racing discussion is again highlighting how much he loves this track. ππ
π¨βπ« TRAINER: Jim Goldie knows this experienced campaigner inside out β and bringing him back to one of his favourite hunting grounds looks an eye-catching move. ππͺ
π₯ HORSES FOR COURSES β GWEEDORE BACK AT MUSSELBURGH! BIG CHANCE TODAY! ππ₯
π Pick #4: U S S CHARLESTON β 16:00 Brighton
π FORM: Plenty to like here! U S S Charleston has two career wins, including a turf victory at Yarmouth this season. He then stepped into a much stronger Class 2 handicap at Epsom and finished a creditable 5th of 16. His season statistics show a healthy 20% Flat win rate. ππ
π BRIGHTON: π No course form yet, but looks progressive! He has already proved himself on turf and brings winning sprint form into the equation.
π¨βπ« TRAINER: Lemos De Souza has already guided this colt to winning form this year, including that Yarmouth success. π―π
π₯ TURF WINNER WITH CLASS-2 EXPERIENCE β BIG CHANCE TODAY! π₯π
π Pick #5: SUDU β 16:10 Thirsk
π FORM: Sudu has shown he possesses a serious engine. The standout performance was a massive 7-length victory at Epsom over 1m4f ππ¨, earning an RPR of 94. He had also run a strong 4th of 12 at Newbury immediately beforehand.
π THIRSK: π No course form yet, but that dominant Epsom victory proves he can deliver on turf!
π¨βπ« TRAINER: Roger Varian is a top-class Flat trainer with an outstanding long-term record β Racing TV lists 1,219 Flat-turf winners from 6,300 starts. Sudu’s earlier profile also caught the eye when Varian was operating at a 75% recent strike rate (3 from 4). π₯π
π₯ THAT 7-LENGTH WIN SHOWS THE TALENT IS THERE β BIG CHANCE TODAY! ππ
